Alright…quick quiz. I’ll give a slogan…you identify the company.
- Broiling beats frying
- The Choice of a new generation
- Don’t Leave Home without it
- Melts in your mouth not in your hands
Now, let’s check your answers…
- Burger King
- Pepsi
- American Express
- M&Ms
Each of these companies and thousands/millions of others have an identifiable brand. Either a phrase or an image that is designed to automatically remind the viewer/listener of the company or product.
As a Network or Internet Marketer, it is vital for you to create a brand.
Should your brand be your company? NO!!!
What is the best brand for you? Your brand is looking you in the face every morning…YOU!
Here are 5 tips for establishing your brand.
- Secure your brand – If you are going to market in this day and age, you must use the internet. The first step in securing your brand is to register your name as a domain name. If your name is already taken as a .com, look at using a .info, .net, .us, etc. Or place a hyphen in the domain (ex. www.kevin-crawley.com)
- Be consistent – In establishing your brand, you won’t see results on Day 1. However, if you keep sending the same consistent branding message you will find that people begin to remember you. Use the same picture on all of the sites where your picture is posted. If you have long hair in one picture but short hair in another, at first glance I may not see you as the same person. To take it a step further, ever notice how I close all of my posts and emails? “Success and Blessings”, that is part of my consistent brand message.
- Be reachable – People need to know how to contact or follow you. If you don’t have a Twitter/MySpace/Facebook account…stop right now (actually finish this blog, LOL!) and go get one or all of these. Your brand means nothing if people cannot find you. Social networks provide you with an opportunity to be in contact with millions of people around the world.
- Produce your own content – You are a unique individual. How you communicate differs from everyone else on the planet. To think that you have nothing to contribute is selling yourself short. You have experiences and skills that someone else will find beneficial. Take that information and turn it into ebooks, podcasts, blogs, etc.
- Promote your brand – How do you promote your brand? Be yourself! People want to work with people they trust. Trust is gained over time. So allow people to get to know you. Don’t spend every conversation trying to sell them. If you branding (you) is solid enough, they will be asking you how they can buy from or work with you.
Remember…You are unique. You have something valuable to contribute to the world. Let us know who you are!
Success and Blessings,
Kevin
